EUROPE'S NUMBER 1 BEACH BOYS TRIBUTE

STEVE STILES

Steve didn't pick a guitar up until he was 18 years old, having spent his earlier years as a promising footballer (he spent 2 years as an Associated Footballer with Charlton Athletic F.C. but is a lifelong Spurs supporter!). On hearing 'Disraeli Gears' by Cream he decided to get himself a guitar and, after many months of sore fingers, he managed to play his first 3 chords!

Subsequent playing at wherever he could get a gig led to him joining a local band 'Jacker'. This in turn led to a meeting with drummer Simon West and with 3 friends they formed 'Pearly Browne' who were signed by Cube Records and enjoyed limited success. After the untimely demise of the 'Pearleys' Steve played for some time with the well known dance bands 'Hi-Fly' and 'Out of the Blue'. Whilst playing nationally with these bands Steve also spent some time as a session musician and also launched a successful solo career. It was in late 2001 when he was approached by friend and drummer Simon to join a new Beach Boys tribute band. Having loved the majority of the 60's bands especially the Beatles and the Beach Boys, Steve jumped at the chance and the rest is history......
